Not such a busy week this week.
Julie Howell moving on from RNIB
I guess it was bound to happen one day. Today, Julie announced publicly that she will be leaving RNIB in November. “Where’s she going?!” do I hear you say? She’s off to web design company Fortune Cookie, as Director of Public Relations.

Who will pick up W3C’s baton?
“In an idle moment, I tapped bbc.co.uk into the W3C’s markup validation service. It failed validation with 45 errors. Perhaps the BBC should do better; but the truth is that nobody will care if the page renders successfully in their browser. This might explain why so few of the major web sites bother with W3C validation, despite its supposed role as the guardian of web standards.”

VisioVoice accessibility software updated with fixes
AssistiveWare on Tuesday announced the release of VisioVoice 1.0.1, an update to their assistive software for blind and vision-impaired Mac OS X users. A free update for registered users, VisioVoice costs $185.
