Moderated testing – including video and screen capture
Moderated user testing allows experts from the AbilityNet team to observe users performing tasks and prompt them to talk through what they are doing. This enables an in-depth analysis of the test and the user’s observations.
Moderated tests are recorded using a digital camcorder and screen capture software (Camtasia). We provide you with complete video and audio recordings of the tester at work, discussions and comments during testing, and all screen activity.
Such a comprehensive documentation of disabled users performing tasks on your website can be an invaluable tool in helping you gain support from colleagues or management for any necessary remedial work.
Accompanying the recordings is the disabled user testing report which crucially includes input from our experts on all issues encountered during testing with recommended solutions.
This combination of recorded material and expert report is a powerful combination – at a price well below lab usability testing.
"We engaged AbilityNet to carry out Disabled User testing on our corporate site and found this to be so beneficial that we intend to extend this testing to all of our web sites. Our Adviceguide site won an NLB Visionary Design Award for outstanding achievement in ensuring access to blind and vision impaired people (2003) , as did the AbilityNet site (2004), and we are proud to be working with them in constantly improving our sites for every visitor."
