A practical introduction to website accessibility
Every web manager needs to have a good understanding of the key issues of web accessibility and the impact it has on their users. They also need to appreciate the pressing legal and overwhelming business cases.
Course aim
This course is intended for organisations wanting a practical fast track introduction to web accessibility – the key issues and legal and business cases.
Duration
The course lasts a full day. It runs from 10am to 4.30pm and the price includes lunch and refreshments.
Audience
This course is for all Web professionals including managers, developers, designers and editors who need to appreciate the key areas of web accessibility – technical knowledge is not required.

Topics covered in this course include:
- a definition of accessibility and why it is an important issue – includes key statistics and an overview of accessibility guidelines
- The law – examines key legislation including the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
- The impact of accessibility – uses practical demonstrations and videos to show who is affected by accessibility issues, and describes simple steps you can take to help
