Volunteering
We have regular secondees from the John Lewis Partnership, and have set up reciprocal working arrangements with a variety of companies that recognise that as an employee, knowledge of assistive and adaptive technologies and accessible websites is very useful.
We welcome volunteers with reasonable IT and other skills to help with administration, fundraising, marketing and web accessibility services. Opportunities vary and most volunteers need to be available on a regular basis for 6 months.
Volunteering for techies
If you have good IT skills, and would like to help disabled people sort out technical problems in their own homes, please get in touch with the IT Can Help (ITCH) Network. ITCH is a UK wide volunteer network set up and managed by the British Computer Society. AbilityNet and ITCH work together to provide the best possible support for home based disabled clients.
