Professional development

Many community centres, learning centres, libraries, rehabilitation units, residential care homes annd others wish to build their own expertise to provide better support for disabled individuals on site.

AbilityNet offers a range of professional development options relating to disabled access, disability discrimination and choosing and using assistive technology, including:

• NOCN accreditation for your work in assistive technology
• support visits and opportunities for joint assessments
• expert assistance to assess need through online and phone based joint working
• e-mail and phone support on more general issues from specialists in the sector
• training and networking events
• regular technology update events
• resources including fact and skill sheets, video case studies and web based materials
