Play AT ICT Northern Ireland Project funded by the Roald Dahl Foundation
Play AT ICT Northern Ireland project has been extended for a further 2 years from April 2010 to March 2012.
We will continue to maintain and further develop relationships with the five Education and Library Boards in Northern Ireland (Belfast, North Eastern, South Eastern, Southern and Western), to help ensure Nurseries and Education Professionals have the opportunity to gain further support, training and awareness of Accessible Technology within a Nursery School setting.
We will be developing relationships with voluntary organisations and charities in Northern Ireland whose focus is on supporting children with Neurological Conditions, who could benefit from our support through the project.
We will continue to support the current 27 participating nurseries and children centres and over the next 2 years we are also looking to engage a further 50 Nurseries with equipment, assessment, support and training.
As a participating organisation, you will have the opportunity to receive training, a support pack of information to develop further skills, and remote support and assessments for nursery age children. You will have also have access to a wide range of adaptive technology from our loan bank. For example: Switches – Alternative Mice and Keyboards - Keyboard stickers - Touch Monitors – Switch adapted toys and much more. This service is supported by the project and is FREE to participating organisations.
If you are interested in participating in this project please download the participation form (Word document 381Kb) and return to preschool@abilitynet.org.uk.
