Loan bank for education
AbilityNet’s commitment to our users means that we always prefer a ‘try before you buy’ approach, and through our loan bank we are now making this more widely available.
Depending on the user and the equipment, it’s sometimes only possible to be sure the recommended solution is suitable after it’s been used over several weeks, particularly if someone needs to learn new software from scratch.
AbilityNet’s assistive technology loan bank is designed to help you avoid making costly mistakes, and includes a wide range of educational and access software for physical, reading, writing, learning and sensory difficulties; along with hardware such as portable writing aids, the latest CCTVs, Braille devices and laptops of all shapes and sizes! Some are high cost items you might otherwise struggle to access.
You can subscribe to the loan bank through a service level agreement or use it on an ad hoc basis. The following gives indicative monthly charges excluding carriage. All loans carry an additional £40 carriage and handling charge.
