About our research
By getting involved in our research we will ask you to try out websites and give us feedback. We then use this feedback to help our clients improve the accessibility of their websites.
Each test takes between one and two hours. We would ask you to do try out some typical tasks like booking tickets or finding information.
We pay £40 per hour for the test, so you can earn some extra cash by helping improve the web. We can also pay up to £30 in travel expenses.
Our testing takes place at labs in Central London and Manchester. We have a range of assistive technologies so we can usually set up the computer so it's easy for you to use.
Who can help us
To help with our research you need to have some physical, sensory, cognitive or literacy difficulty that substantially impacts on your computer use.
If your condition does not have a significant impact on how you use a computer then your findings will not be different from standard user testers.
If for example you are a capable typist using a one-handed keyboard, or an accurate mouse user who happens to need a special mouse, or get tired after a time at the computer your testing would produce pretty standard results and, unfortunately, we are not able to take you on.
If the answer to any of these questions is 'Yes', you may be a suitable candidate:
- Do you use an assistive technology such as a screen reader or voice recognition software?
- Do you find it very difficult to use a mouse?
- Do you avoid using the mouse?
- Do you find it hard to see the screen?
- Do you have difficulties reading?
- Do you have a learning disability or cognitive impairment?
If the answer is 'Yes' you may be able to be one of our network of user experience testers.

Information Network
By joining our database we can add you our mailing list. We can send you information about the latest free tools and tips that should make surfing the web easier. We may also ask you for your opinions on websites and tools you can access on the web.
